In line with the GEGDS, the Program of Action 2012 to 2014 is made up comprehensive, but focused areas of strategic interventions that taken together, will yield high impact in critical success areas in the short-term, whilst simultaneously ensuring traction on long-term projects that are set to significantly transform the Gauteng economy. The GEGDS is seen as an immediate strategy that will be supported by the GGDA. The GGDA also aims to certify that key provincial strategies are supported in a manner that ensures success of those strategies. Key to this is support growth of the cooperatives economy, facilitation of trade and investment and increased strategic economic infrastructure. It aims to demonstrate thought leadership in implementing key programs and provide support for the development of key sectors of the economy in line with the conventional economic and industrial policies of the Province. The GGDA’s purpose is therefore to grow the economy by positioning Gauteng as a Globally Competitive City Region (GCR).

Together with GEDAand DTI, we have taken the initiative to come up with Music Export Development Programme to assist emerging music companies in South Africa to grow export opportunities. IMEXSA's focus to develop and increase the number of music exporters in South Africa by identifying trade opportunities and assisting companies to take advantage of those opportunities. Our role is to help South Africans and international independent music professionals to work together, to create awareness, networking, export readiness development for independent music companies and just as importantly, to educate international trade and media about the quality and diversity of products offered by the South African culture, to increase the value of the music business in South Africa, though international activitiesand by building a brand of SA as music providing country. Independent Music Exporters South Africa (IMEXSA) is a non profit organization dedicated to develop South African-produced music around the world, provide assistance, create opportunities for emerging music companies in South Africa to be internationally successful and to promote proffesional exchange between South Africa and other countries while contributing significantly to the growth of the South African economy
